Fans for Cruz? (VIDEO Added)

TPM Reader TA was kinda impressed …

I sent a quick email as it was happening, but I was watching the Holder hearing today live and was really struck by Sen. Cruz’ questioning of Holder. He was trying to pin him down on whether it was constitutionally permissible for us to use a drone strike to kill an American citizen on U.S. soil when there was NO danger of imminent threat (as opposed to the “imminent threat to stop another 9/11” that he referred to in his letter to Paul).
I have to say, it was shocking to me that Holder did not unequivocally say “no” - except perhaps at the very end. It was a remarkable exchange in part because it was a right-wing senator questioning Obama’s guy. But I found it chilling that Holder did not unequivocally rule it out, and instead was clearly dodging the question by talking about whether it was “appropriate,” etc.

And whatever you think of Sen Cruz, I have to admit I was impressed by the clarity of his questioning. I don’t think Holder could possibly have credibly claimed to be confused by the question, which he seemed to be trying to do. I only saw it live, so maybe I am not reporting it 100% accurately, but I think you guys should take a look and maybe post that clip.

And here’s the video …
